Steve Merritt

Founder & Managing Director

Steve has specialised in accounting and finance recruitment for close to 20 years and has gained extensive recruitment experience in both Australia and the UK across the professional practice, commercial sector and banking markets.  

Having commenced his career with an international recruitment firm, Steve established Hedley Scott Recruitment in 2013 to continue his passion in recruitment and provide the accounting community with a specialised and tailored recruitment service. 

Steve sets his standards high and endeavours to deliver outstanding results for his candidates and clients, resulting in long-term business relationships. With his consultative, honest and straightforward approach, Steve has established a reputation as an industry leader and trusted recruitment partner. 

Outside of work Steve enjoys the outdoors life on Sydney’s Northern Beaches and spends the weekends chasing after his two sons.     

Jacqui Fine

Senior Finance Recruitment Specialist

​​Jacqui commenced her career in South Africa as an Auditor before moving into the commercial sector and progressing into Senior Finance Leadership positions. This experience has given Jacqui an understanding and exposure to various industry sectors and strong skills in recruiting and building finance teams.

Following a successful accounting career, Jacqui transitioned into the Recruitment Industry and is now specialising in the recruitment of Senior Finance roles within start-up, private and listed businesses. ​

Jacqui’s Senior Finance background has given her a competitive advantage and has enabled her to develop strong relationships with both clients and candidates. With a genuine passion for accounting recruitment, Jacqui provides a high level and consultative service.

Luis​ specialises in Professional Services Accounting Roles across Australia in Business Services & Tax , External & Internal Audit, Corporate Tax, Forensic Accounting, SMSF, Insolvency, Financial Planning, Bookkeeping and Support Staff.

He prides himself on delivering high-quality, honest service and advice by building strong relationships with his candidates and clients.

Saadia Miah

Associate Director

Saadia commenced her career working as an Accountant in both the professional practice and commercial sectors. Her industry experience, gained from working with Farrar & Co Chartered Accountants, Deloitte and Westpac has enabled her to develop a strong understanding of the accounting and finance industry. 

In 2011, Saadia transitioned into the recruitment industry specialising in recruitment for the accounting and finance sector. Her genuine interest in partnering with her clients and ability to be a trusted advisor has allowed Saadia to build key relationships and develop strong networks within the industry. Her transparent and honest approach sets her apart from her competitors and this has contributed significantly towards her success within the profession. She has built a strong reputation in the market and is highly regarded amongst her peers.

Outside of work, Saadia is a professional dancer and enjoys performing on stage. She also loves travelling and spending quality time with her family and friends.
